چکیده
Herbicides are applied indiscriminately to achieve maximum weed control in agricultural production which might contaminate the food chain through bio-augmentation of residue concentration soil. One management suggested overcome herbicides contamination is treating with various organic amendments. Hence laboratory column leaching and sorption experiments were conducted Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore investigate behavior viz., pendimethalin, atrazine imazethapyr soil as influenced by amendments @ 5t/ha FYM, vermicompost, composted coir pith, maize crop biochar. Leaching experiment was using PVC columns 45 cm length study different concentrations chosen per OECD guidelines. Results showed that movement studied modified particularly biochar residue. Biochar treated retained 29.76, 40.20, 38.07 percent respectively surface 0-15 depth reduced its lower depths leachates. adsorption higher indicated Koc values 225, 184 22 mg/L for followed It concluded application amendment efficient decreasing modifying their potential groundwater.

Sorption, degradation and leaching of pesticides in soils amended with organic matter: A review
The use of pesticides in modern agriculture is unavoidable because they are required to control weeds. Pesticides are poisonous; hence, they are dangerous if misused. Understanding the fate of pesticides will be useful to use them safely. Therefore, contaminations of water and soil resources could be avoided. The fates of pesticides in soils are influenced by their sorption, decomposition and m...

متن کاملComparative sorption and leaching study of the herbicides fluometuron and 4-chloro-2-methylphenoxyacetic acid (MCPA) in a soil amended with biochars and other sorbents.
Biochar, the solid residual remaining after the thermochemical transformation of biomass for carbon sequestration, has been proposed to be used as a soil amendment, because of its agronomic benefits. The effect of amending soil with six biochars made from different feedstocks on the sorption and leaching of fluometuron and 4-chloro-2-methylphenoxyacetic acid (MCPA) was compared to the effect of...
متن کاملSorption-desorption behavior of atrazine on soils subjected to different organic long-term amendments.
Sorption of atrazine on soils subjected to three different organic amendments was measured using a batch equilibrium technique. A higher K(F) value (2.20 kg(-1)(mg L(-1))(-N)) was obtained for soil fertilized with compost, which had a higher organic matter (OM) content. A correlation between the K(FOC) values and the percentage of aromatic carbon in OM was observed. The highest K(FOC) value was...
